Artist Statement
These pieces mean so much to me because I notice that it’s easy for everyone to show their emotions but it's not always easy for me to do it. I'm able to express myself through this artwork. I made 5 expressive faces: sad, mad, happy, worried, and surprised. I picked these specific expressions because, in my everyday life, I get to visualize the people around me showing off these expressions each and every day. I made each one by cutting out the shape of each face and then I would just carve in each facial expression to what I wanted it to look like. Such as for the surprise carving out a circle for the mouth and making the eyes big to make the expression stick out. Something I want my viewers to take away from my project is the expressions can come in many different forms but to understand that there's a different style to the way I did them.

Mugs 3 way
I explored with throwing a mug, carving, and scoring and slipping handles on them which we put big emphasis on throughout the project.
Lidded Pedestal
With this project I explored with making lids and taking the basics like making a two bowls and scoring and slipping them together to make a lidded pedestal.
